This March, residents and staff at Ullswater Care Home came together to celebrate International Women’s Day with heartfelt conversation, reflection, and a few joyful surprises.
The day began with shared stories about the incredible women who have shaped our lives. Residents spoke of mothers, daughters, sisters, friends and role models who had left lasting impressions. It was a beautiful time to listen, learn and honour the strength, resilience and kindness of women past and present.
To mark the occasion, our talented chefs created a delicious spread of handmade cakes. There were floral cupcakes, sweet shortbreads and a beautifully light Victoria sponge that quickly became a favourite. As everyone gathered over tea and cake, the room filled with laughter, memories and meaningful moments.
International Women’s Day gave us the chance to pause, celebrate and connect. It reminded us just how much strength and beauty lives in the stories we share and the people we cherish.
