March has been full of sunshine, smiles, and special moments here at Ullswater Cottage Care Home. From Easter festivities to seaside adventures, it’s been a month to remember for residents and staff alike.
Easter Fun and Festivities
We kicked off the Easter season with a joyful celebration full of treats and laughter. Residents enjoyed a delicious spread of freshly toasted crumpets, sweet doughnuts, and, of course, plenty of chocolate. Our annual Easter egg hunt brought out everyone’s competitive side, with both residents and staff taking part in the fun. The day was topped off with a traditional Easter roast, lovingly prepared by our kitchen team and enjoyed by all around the table.
A National Achievement for Our Team
We’re incredibly proud to share some exciting news – our very own Vicky has been named Most Outstanding Team Leader in the UK for 2023. This is a huge achievement and a true reflection of her dedication, compassion, and leadership. Vicky’s commitment to creating a warm, supportive environment at Ullswater Cottage Care Home makes a difference every single day. Congratulations, Vicky, this award is so well deserved.
Happy Birthday, Kevin!
Birthday celebrations were in full swing this month as we marked Kevin’s special day. No birthday at Ullswater is complete without cake, and there was certainly plenty of it to go around. Residents joined together for a cheerful afternoon tea, with lots of laughter, singing, and shared memories to help Kevin ring in another year.
A Day Out on the Brighton Seafront
We made the most of the early spring sunshine with a lovely day trip to Brighton. Residents soaked up the sea breeze on the vibrant seafront, taking in the sights, sounds, and fresh coastal air. The highlight of the day was a visit to the SEA LIFE Brighton aquarium, where everyone enjoyed learning about fascinating marine life. From colourful tropical fish to curious sea turtles, it was a magical experience for all.
