Valentine’s Day was full of warmth, colour and cheer here at Ullswater Care Home. From the first decorations going up to the last crumb of cake served, the entire day was a beautiful celebration of love in all its forms.
Our chefs created a delicious selection of homemade Valentine’s treats, including cupcakes, chocolate-dipped strawberries and a perfectly pink sponge cake. Tables were set with hearts and flowers, and afternoon tea was served with elegance and care.
Throughout the day, residents played themed games, shared stories and welcomed visits from family and friends. It was heart-warming to see so many smiles, hugs and meaningful conversations. Some residents shared memories of their first sweethearts, while others simply enjoyed being surrounded by familiar faces and good company.
Valentine’s Day at Ullswater is about more than cards or roses. It’s about celebrating connection, kindness and the love we build as a community. This year’s celebration was a shining example of that love in action.
